These are amazing and extremely sad yet uplifting books based on the authors true life story. They are powerful books which hold a deep message under the pain. I have recently found out that there is a forth book that covers the missing teenage years of David which I am reading now.

The books in the series are called:

A child called it
The lost boy
A man named dave

and now the privalege of youth

The first time i read these books i really cried. Has anyone else read any of them?

My friend has read the first book for a book report. When she told us about it, it did seem reallly sad... but it does seem good, so I might read it if I get a chance to.

I only thought the first one was really sad...and then my mom read it and she didn't think that much of it at all, because she has a few relatives that were extremely abused as children and are still being emotionally abused today...but hm, won't go into a rant here. Just this, can you imagine being abused even WORSE than dave was? :pale:

I have only read the first two books (I didnt realise there was a forth either lol)

It is the most destressing book i have ever read, but it is amazing how the author came through it and made something of his life.

Yes, I've read all three. Had no idea there was a fourth one, I'll go look for it now. Omg, but these books are really sad, it's not even funny. I maked my life seem so better, it really opens your eyes, i think. It made me grateful to have a loving family.
